I picked the best time ever to begin an outdoor construction project, during the peak of Summer. This deck and pergola with sunshade sails was a gift from me to my wife at her new salon 2151 Salon & Gallery in the beautiful East Hill area of Pensacola, Florida. The backyard of this historic building was once beautiful, but it lacked shade, had uneven terrain, and aged vegetation. Despite the challenges of minor heat stroke and summer showers, I persevered and completed the project. The sunshade sails in a beautiful turquoise color now provide much-needed shade and make the backyard more enjoyable for everyone. Additionally, I installed bright rope lighting hidden underneath the handrails and created flowerbeds using bricks from clearing the area. This project was a labor of love, and although I would gladly do it again, I would choose a different season.
